Who am I? What am I?

Hello my name is Tony Baptista. I am a husband, a father and a business owner.

My key belief in dealing with others is to treat others the way I would like to be treated with integrity and respect. I feel that respect is something that is earned and not something that everyone is entitled to; yes that even applies to family. I begin every personal and business relationship with an open mind and pay respect forward to others until proven otherwise. Yup .. I know what you’re thinking .. isn’t that noble.

I also believe in “what goes around comes around”. I have many times enjoyed how karma has come around to get those people who have wronged myself or my family. Some may call that petty; I call it enjoyable to watch, long overdue and self-inflicted. Okay .. now I sound more human.

Remaining positive and the truth is an integral part of every relationship; be it personal or business. It just takes too much effort to try to remember lies. As well I try to be as helpful as possible in order to assist where ever I can; remember, I believe that what goes around comes around.

So that’s me!

Okay .. so that doesn’t seem to tell you a lot about what makes me qualified to write an IT consulting based blog. That gets into telling you about my bio which is a bit boring to read.

For a select few, reading my bio may introduce some concepts or skill sets which they may want to introduce into their own business. For the rest of you, feel free to skim or completely bypass the bio below.

My official bio:

Tony Baptista is a “Technology Based Solutions Provider” with 20+ years experience as a professional consultant. Coming to the realization that this phrase was quite vague, the next paragraph provides clear insight into what the phrase means. A solution provider comprehensively handles the project needs of their client from concept to installation through to support. This process normally involves studying the client’s current infrastructure, evaluating the client’s needs, specifying the mix of programming and / or manufacturers’ hardware / software requirements, to meet the client’s project goals; and deploying this solution at the client’s site(s).

In short, his experience is best reflected by the slogan “Technology, Processes, Automation, Deployment and Client Self-Sufficiency”.

In 1989, Force Twelve Consulting Limited (his first firm) was established and is still operational serving small, medium and multinational firms. The roots of this firm began with providing IT services to small businesses. This rapidly evolved to cover all technology needs for firms small and large as “when you are the IT for a small firm you become their technology lifeline regardless of where the technology requirements take you”. Thus, as is Tony’s viewpoint today:

1. if there is a technology requirement then there is a process to identify
2. once identified some automation or efficiency will be of benefit which will require deployment
3. a proper deployment and implemented process will lead to client self-sufficiency in the original
technology requirement (a win-win‟ situation)

Tony currently holds a number of positions within various firms in order to maintain an extensive network of consultants and associates which may be called upon to assist with client projects.
